Building Better Financial Habits Through Real Practice
Most people learn about money by making mistakes. We think there's a better way. Our approach puts you in realistic situations where the consequences help you learn—without the real-world risk.
We're not here to lecture about compound interest or budgeting basics. Instead, we help you practice making actual financial decisions in scenarios that mirror what you'll face in your life.

How We Actually Teach This Stuff
You won't find us reciting textbook definitions. Our methods focus on hands-on practice with feedback that sticks because you experienced it yourself.
Scenario Immersion
You get dropped into financial situations that feel uncomfortably real. Should you take that car loan? What happens if your income drops suddenly? We create the pressure without the permanent damage.
- Monthly budget challenges with surprise expenses
- Investment choices with market volatility
- Debt management under time constraints
- Emergency fund decisions when life happens
Adaptive Difficulty
Some folks come in understanding credit scores. Others are figuring out what RRSP stands for. The scenarios adjust to meet you where you actually are—not where a curriculum thinks you should be.
- Initial assessment through simple choices
- Complexity increases with your comfort level
- Multiple paths based on your interests
- Optional deep dives when you want more
Consequence Learning
The best teacher? Seeing what happens when you make a choice. Our models show you the ripple effects—both positive and negative—so the lesson actually lands.
- Real-time impact visualization
- Long-term projection of your decisions
- Comparison with alternative choices
- Pattern recognition across scenarios

Beatrix Loughlin
Scenario Design Specialist
Beatrix spent seven years as a credit counselor before joining us in early 2023. She got tired of seeing the same mistakes repeated—people who understood the theory but froze when facing real decisions.
Now she builds the scenarios you'll work through. Each one is pulled from actual cases she handled, with names changed and details scrambled. That car loan decision? That's based on three different clients who made three different choices with wildly different outcomes.
I don't want students to just know what a good debt-to-income ratio is. I want them to feel the squeeze when they're at 43% and a major expense hits. That's when the learning actually happens.
She works with a rotating group of financial advisors and behavioral economists to keep the scenarios current with 2025 realities—including the stuff that surprises people, like how quickly subscription services can multiply or what happens when your bank changes its fee structure.
Flexible Learning That Fits Your Schedule
We know you're busy. Some people want to dive deep on weekends. Others need to grab twenty minutes during lunch. Our structure accommodates both.
Starting in September 2025, we're offering multiple ways to engage with the material. Pick what works for you, or mix and match as your schedule changes.
Self-Paced Scenarios
Access the full library of financial scenarios whenever you want. Work through them at your own speed, repeat the ones that challenge you, skip what you already know. Most people spend 4-6 hours per week and finish the core material in three months.
Guided Cohorts
Join a small group working through scenarios together. You'll get scheduled sessions twice a week where everyone compares their choices and discusses what happened. Groups start October 2025 and run for twelve weeks.
Weekend Intensives
Prefer to block out dedicated time? Our intensive format covers three months of material in four full-day Saturday sessions. You'll work through scenarios in real-time with immediate group discussion. Next series starts November 2025.
Individual Coaching
Sometimes you need someone looking over your shoulder. Book one-on-one sessions to work through scenarios with direct feedback. We'll focus on the specific financial situations most relevant to your current life. Available year-round by appointment.
