Building Better Financial Decisions Through Clear Modeling

We started romesilore in early 2023 because too many people were making big financial choices without understanding the actual numbers. Not the spreadsheet kind that accountants love, but real scenarios you can actually picture.

Our training programs show you how to build scenario models that make sense. We work with professionals who need to explain complex financial situations to clients who just want straight answers. No jargon, no unnecessary complexity.

Based in Ottawa, we've trained over 340 finance professionals across Canada since our first workshop in September 2023. Most of our participants say the same thing afterward: they wish they'd learned this approach years ago.

What Drives Our Teaching Approach

These aren't corporate values we picked from a list. They're principles that actually shape how we design courses and work with participants.

Practical Over Theoretical

Every module includes real examples from actual client scenarios. We don't teach concepts you'll never use. Each technique has been tested with real people making real decisions.

Clear Communication First

Financial modeling shouldn't require a decoder ring. We show you how to present scenarios that your clients immediately understand, even when the underlying math is complex.

Ongoing Development

Markets shift, regulations change, and client needs transform. Our curriculum updates quarterly based on what participants tell us they're encountering in their actual work.

How We Actually Teach This Stuff

Most financial training throws spreadsheet formulas at you and calls it a day. We take a different path because, honestly, that approach doesn't work for most people.

Our method starts with the conversation you'll have with your client, then works backward to build the model that supports it. Sounds simple, but it changes everything about how you structure scenarios.

  • Start each session with a real client question, not a formula
  • Build models in small steps that you can explain at each stage
  • Test your scenarios with actual questions people ask
  • Learn to spot when numbers tell a misleading story
  • Practice presenting options without steering the decision

Our next comprehensive program launches in October 2025. Spots are limited to 18 participants because the format relies heavily on individual feedback and group discussion.

Linnea Thibault, lead instructor and curriculum designer at romesilore

Meet Linnea Thibault

Linnea spent 11 years as a financial advisor before she got frustrated enough to start romesilore. She kept seeing the same problem: advisors who understood the math but couldn't explain it in ways that helped clients make confident decisions.

She designed our first scenario modeling workshop in her kitchen, testing it with a small group of colleagues who were equally tired of confusing their clients with technical language. The feedback was immediate: this actually helps.

Now she leads our curriculum team and still teaches at least one session every month. She believes the best financial education happens when you can see how the concepts play out with real money and real consequences.
